Personal Narrative: Fate :: essays research papers

I gazed out the window, amazed at how the sun rose from the horizon and illuminated the dimly lit car. It was the beginning of August but my teeth chattered violently as I sat against the cold seat. My grandfather was wise to insist that I change from my bathing suit before we left from our annual trip in Atlantic City, New Jersey, however, my sister and I choose to spend our last minutes merrily wadding in the ocean. A feeble yawn escaped my lips as I felt the cold penetrate through the flimsy blanket and make my clothes cling to my skin. I was going home. I had anticipated the trip all summer long and now that it was over, I wanted one more swim, one more ride, and one more delightful taste of fluffy cotton candy. It was time to go back to the reality of an unhealthy grandma and the fear of death. My grandma was an alcoholic and I had grown used to the numerous trips to the hospital and the promises of change with the apologies of regret. Day after day, she would sit in the old flower-patterned wooden chair drinking the forty-ounce beer, which she weakly tried to obfuscate in the wrinkled brown paper bag. At the innocent age of eleven, I knew about the evil brown elixir that she tried to conceal and the smell of it made my nostrils flare and stomach churn in repulsion. The silence in the car became deafening as the reality of what awaited me at home became translucent. The doctors would do as they always did, give her advice, the number to a rehabilitation center and she would come home with a cry of redemption. After a week of abstinence and several incidents of violence, she would sooth her emotions with a drink. In order to regain composure she needed divine intervention and the support of her family. Unlike most of the members of my family, I still believed that she was capable of recovery but I was also slowly losing faith in her. Before we left for New Jersey, she had learned that her liver was failing and she had no more chances to rectify her life. She had to stop. Through my tired eyes, I observed a feathery white cloud float across the sky and obscure the radiant sun. We were almost home and I could not get the haunting thoughts out of my head.

Jerry Maguire Essay

Students must secure (purchase, rent, or borrow) and view a copy of Jerry Maguire to answer the following questions 1. Describe Jerry Maguire’s job and describe what this type of position entails. Jerry Maguire is a sports agent a person who negotiates employment and endorsement deals for an athlete. For their services, the agent receives a commission, which usually runs between 4 and 10 percent. The agent also may assist in public relations and all aspects of his client’s finances. Our text states a few of the other responsibilities of the agent are; †¢ Determines the value of the players services †¢ Convinces a club to pay the player the aforementioned value †¢ Develops the package of compensation to suit the player’s needs †¢ Protects the player’s rights under contract †¢ Counsels the player about post career security, both financial and occupational †¢ Finds a new club upon the player’s free agency †¢ Assists the player in earning extra income from endorsements, speeches, appearances, and commercials †¢ Advises athletes on the effect of their personal conduct on their career (p 26) According to Wikipedia, a sports agent helps market athletes or products associated with that athlete to promote an athlete’s career. Agents are responsible for communications with team owners, managers, coaches, and other individuals. Primarily, agents are used to broker and negotiate contracts for their clients. Also, they are responsible for making recommendations in regards to the athlete’s options. In addition to finding income sources, agents often handle public relations matters for their clients. In some large sports agencies, such as IMG, Creative Artists Agency, and Octagon, agents deal with all aspects of a client’s finances, from investment to filing taxes. Sports agents may be relied upon by their clients for guidance in all business aspects, and sometimes even more broadly. For example, hockey agents start recruiting clients as young as 15, allowing the agent to guide the athlete’s career before the NHL draft, which happens usually at 18 years of age. Due to the length and complexity of contracts, many sports agents are lawyers or have a background in contract law. Agents are expected to be knowledgeable about finance, business management, and financial and risk analysis, as well as sports. It is important for a sports agent to follow trends in sports. Other skills an agent must possess are excellent communication and negotiation skills. Agents must be highly motivated, willing to work long hours, and have the ability to multitask. It is very common for agents to be in negotiations on behalf of several clients at one time. Some agents are part of large companies, and some are on their own. The number of clients an individual agent can handle and how many clients his or her employing agency can handle in total are interdependent variables. Before the 1990s, most soccer players did not use agents. In some cases, they used their fathers as agents. Due to most parents’ naivetà © about the football business, these young footballers were often given less-than-stellar contracts by football clubs, which yielded lower salaries than they thought they deserved. In Sweden, there were only three licensed agents in 1995. As of 2002, there were 33. According to FIFA, there were 5,187 licensed association football agents world-wide, with 600 agents in Italy alone. Since 2001, agents have not been licensed by FIFA. Instead, agents are now licensed directly by each association. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_agent 2. Why has the bargaining power of athletes increased so much in the past 40 years? The sports industry is experiencing tremendous growth, and sports’ marketing  is playing an important role in this emerging industry. Sports marketing will continue to grow in importance as sports become more pervasive in the U.S. culture and around the globe. The growth is identified in a number of ways; the number of spectators, the growth of media coverage, increase in sport participation, rising employment opportunities, and the growth in sports internationally. (p31) Based on this it is my opinion that the bargaining power of athletes have increased because demand has increased. 3. The competitive nature of the sports agency business is real. Name five of the top agencies and show the source of your information (i.e. www†¦). †¢ Creative Artists Agency: â€Å"CAA† – acquired various pieces of the sports agency business of SFX (see below), starting with football. †¢ IMG – International Management Group – corporate agency established by entrepreneur Mark McCormack, originally with a specialization in golf and tennis. After the death of McCormack the company was acquired by private equity group Forstmann Little. †¢ International Sports Management – British sports agency run by former European Tour golfer Andrew â€Å"Chubby† Chandler.[27] †¢ Octagon Worldwide – Full-service sports agency and event marketing group, traded with advertising and marketing companies in the Interpublic Group. †¢ Priority Sports and Entertainment- Agency representing the most NBA players, run by Mark Bartelstein. †¢ Rosenhaus Sports- sports agency run by Drew Rosenhaus. †¢ Sports Management Worldwide – (SMWW) – global sports agency founded by Dr. Lynn Lashbrook. †¢ Wasserman Media Group: acquired Arn Tellem’s basketball agency from SFX, and usually represents the most players in NBA lottery draft each year. I don’t know if these are the top five but there are quite a few of these names that keep popping up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_agent 4. Complete an Internet search of the Sports Agent career and describe how one could/should build a career in this industry (include source). Instructions 1. Pick an undergraduate degree program in sports management. These courses will prepare you for most jobs in the sports agent field. Most professional leagues require at least a four-year degree from an accredited university. Take as many business management and entertainment or sports law courses as you can during your education. 2. Determine what sport you want to be an agent in. Understand that the National Football League requires that sports agents hold a post-graduate degree in sports management, human relations, business management, personal finance or a related field. Check with the league or professional sports organization you aspire to work for to understand specific qualifications. 3. Find out about the various qualifications for sports agents in your preferred field. Each potential agent should have information regarding educational requirements, sports league rules, salary information, recruiting information, certification fees and membership costs. 4. Seek certification information on the league or professional organization in which you wish to work. Most leagues require some kind of certification, including the National Basketball Association (NBA), National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB). 5. Study for the certification test for the league or organization you wish to join. Each organization will have resources for certification courses that can help you prepare for the exam. 6. Pay the certification fee and take the respective exam of the organization you aspire to be certified in. 7. Obtain liability insurance, as this will be extremely important in your sports agent career. Some organizations require this of agents, while others do not specify it. Having it will be beneficial in searching for clients and ensure your own legal security on the job, 8. Meet as many agents, players, coaches and media figures as you can. Networking is a huge part of the sports industry and the best agents know how to sell themselves to players to gain clients. Get a good business card and give it to anyone that could be a potential client or lead you to a potential client. 9. Search for internships or entry-level positions at an agency or at the sport organization where you wish to work. Internships can be an excellent way to meet potential clients and since you will already be certified, you can immediately start to network yourself as a potential representative. 10. Start attending college and even high school sporting events in your area and scouting potential clients who may be in need of representation. Securing a client early will (if they are talented) help you build a name. Make sure you stay within the guidelines of district or National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulations for scouting. Coltrane’s Musical Influences in Michael S. Harper’s Poetry

Alabama – the love supreme: Coltrane’s Musical Influences in Michael S. Harper’s Poetry to Convey the Ability to Experience Racism Alabama – the love supreme: Coltrane’s Musical Influences in Michael S. Harper’s Poetry to Convey the Ability to Experience Racism In 1963, a K K K member blew up a church in Birmingham, Alabama. It wounded many people and killed four immature misss. Shortly after this tragic event, wind musician John Coltrane responded with his vocal â€Å"Alabama, † which incorporated similar beat to Martin Luther King, Jr’s addresss. He became a symbol of black patriotism. A little less than a decennary subsequently Michael S. Harper writes his verse form â€Å"Here Where Coltrane Is, † compiled in the bookHistory is Your Own Pulse. The verse form in this anthology are much like those in his old, and foremost, digest,Dear John, Dear Coltrane. Both aggregations of poesy show window Harper’s strengths as a author ; a strong narrative mixed in with redolent imagination. With â€Å"Here Where Coltrane Is, † Harper introduces us to a talker who is enduring of the cold conditions and get bying with the decease of a household member. But, through Coltrane’s music, he finds consolation, parti cularly in the vocal â€Å"Alabama† ( Michael S. Harper, L16 ) . H In his verse form â€Å"Here Where Coltrane Is, † Michael S. Harper uses the John Coltrane song â€Å"Alabama† as a agency of understanding what precisely it’s like to cognize racism first-hand. â€Å"Here Where Coltrane Is† is a lyrical verse form. The construction of the verse form evokes a sort of wind solo separated by two musical Bridgess. But the beat isn’t exact, and that’s the manner it’s meant to be. In lines 3 and 4, Harper describes â€Å"memories and average vocals, † ( Harper, L3-4 ) which in the universe of music means that a vocal doesn’t follow typical chord patterned advances. This can take easy into improvisations and solos. Coltrane was celebrated for making precisely that, giving his music a alone sound and feel. And average vocals, like memories, have a really liquid and free-forming construction, therefore the comparing. The rubric of the verse form is a apposition amongst itself, in respects to the word â€Å"Here† which acts as a dual significance homophone. It describes thatherein the verse form resides Coltrane, either in jet or merely by reference, but besideshearas in listen ; listen to what Coltran e was singing approximately and where he’s coming from. This sets up the verse form as a lyrical verse form as the reader is meant to listen to it beyond merely reading it. The first portion of the verse form chiefly focuses on the historical facet of racism, specifically the African Slave Triangle in the early phases of American development. The verse form opens with two ( three, technically ) words: â€Å"soul and race† ( Harper, L1 ) . A common belief back so was that the Europeans could enslave the Africans in order to salvage their psyche. This gap line truly roots the verse form historically and begins with the beginning of racism in America. This could associate the more metaphorical devastation of inkinesss in the American Slave Trade to the four misss killed in the Alabama bombardments that he mentions subsequently on in the verse form. This besides sheds visible radiation on the American thought of â€Å"freedom† that is more than accepting of the slaying and captivity of inkinesss throughout history. Subsequently, in line 7, Harper mentions a â€Å"Victorian house.† ( Harper, L7 ) . This could be in mention to Victorian Era ideals which deal chiefly in morality and rationalism. This is the exact antonym of what was go oning during the American Slave Trade. But this Victorian manner of place might merely be a wall to bury about the unfairnesss done in the yesteryear in an effort to concentrate on ethical motives and pureness. After the reference of the Victorian house, Harper talks about the rough conditions conditions environing the talker ; â€Å"zero degree weather and forty-mile-an-hour wind† ( Harper, L8-9 ) and â€Å"without oil† ( Harper, L8 ) to maintain warm. This could associate to the rough conditions typically sung about in blues and wind music, which was the genre Coltrane played. But the storm begins to ease up, represented by the image of â€Å"a well-set family† ( Harper, L10 ) one time the talker listens to â€Å"a love supreme† ( Harper, L11 ) . Coltrane wrote this album while he was get the better ofing dependence and self-suffering. At this point the verse form comes full halt with the period ; it is the first span of the vocal in this lyrical manner. The talker comes to footings with his agony in the cross-generational relatability in Coltrane’s work, as it non merely embodies life but the agony of the inkinesss. A few lines down he depict â€Å"clear white kids who love my children† ( Harper, L14-15 ) . This, I feel, is the large point that the verse form is seeking to turn to. The â€Å"clear† white kids are uncaring as to whether or non the speaker’s kids are black ( which I presumed due to the fact that the white kids are introduced by race, doing it an identifier ) . This is because they haven’t been introduced to racism yet. Racism is a historical ideal that older coevalss feel worse than the newer 1s, which is why they’re kids. The grownups might be racist, but their childs aren’t ( for now, at least ) . The â€Å"oak leaves pil [ ing ] up on [ the ] walkway† ( Harper, L12 ) invokes an image of autumn. Fall usually gives off the feel of decease, but besides metempsychosis. With the old oak leaves on the land, new 1s will turn. This relates back to the thought that people aren’t born racialist. Harper continues this thought of being born free and â€Å"clear† ( Harper, L14 ) continues in the following subdivision when he mentions the Coltrane vocal â€Å"Alabama† ( Harper, L16 ) . Before we had elements of racial harmoniousness, but now we get disharmony. The â€Å"warped record participant jumping the scratches† ( Harper, L17-18 ) might associate to the fact that most Americans like to gloss over our troubled and racialist yesteryear, similar to how a warped record will jump over sections of a vocal. The verse form flash-forwards an undetermined clip when the talker is going â€Å"from New York to Philly, † ( Harper, L22-23 ) . Even after the events in the first portion of the verse form occurred, the talker still remains affiliated to the vocal â€Å"Alabama, † specifically it’s â€Å"six notes† ( Harper, L23-24 ) that the vocal repetition. The talker begins to retrieve Coltrane specifically and categorizes him in the same division as two of the most powerful and of import talkers of the American Civil Rights Movement ; Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcom X. Both of these influential work forces are mentioned a few lines down, with Coltrane shuting the three: For this ground Martin is dead ; for this ground Malcom is dead ; for this ground Coltrane is dead ; The repetitive construction makes it clear that Harper is chunking them together with the same importance. In this portion of the verse form, Harper changes the form suggested by the old two musical Bridgess earlier. He utilizes the same extremist alterations that Coltrane used in his music and that Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcom X strived to accomplish. â€Å"Here Where Coltrane Is† brings to illume the importance that a person’s music, or in this instance a individual vocal, can hold on person. Harper incorporates Coltrane’s manner of music public presentations into his Hagiographas to raise a sense of alteration and relatability, allowing one in on the incident of racism in American civilization. It opened a window to the yesteryear in the hope that the hereafter may be changed.

FLVS World History

In what ways is the Holy Land an important site for all three monotheistic faiths? For the Christians it is the city were Jesus was crucified and where he had risen from the dead. For the Muslims it is a place where their leader Mohammad ascended to meet God. Now for the Jewish people King David had named it and it was where Solomon had built the temple, also the Wailing Wall is in this city. The three major monotheistic religions are sometimes described as branches of the same family tree. If this is true, how would you describe the trunk of the tree? I would describe the trunk of the tree as being Judaism. A very strong standing place where the three monotheistic religions started. Like it says in the text â€Å"All three major monotheistic religions claim they began with Abraham. Judaism and Christianity claim that their founders descended from Abraham's son Isaac. Islam claims descent through his other son, Ishmael. † Which Abraham came from Israel, he’s the first generation and helped start the three major religions. How are the three major holy books of the monotheistic faiths both similar and different?Ap World History Units 1-3 Study Guide Judaism believes that Jesus is not the prophet and has not arrived yet. While Christianity and Islam believe that Jesus has already arrived and is the prophet. Christianity also believes in the Holy Triune, which is when God is the father son and Holy spirit. The three faiths are mainly similar because they believe that God put us on this earth with the basic needs. How are the basic beliefs of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam alike? They are alike because they believe that God put us on this earth with the basic needs. Judaism and Islam think that all humans were born pure and innocent. Christianity on the other hand thinks that we’re all born with a natural sin. What types of internal differences and divisions exist within each religion? the easiest way to break up Christianity is into these five categories: Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, Eastern, and Mormon. Each of these groups believes the other groups are failing in their attempt to reach proper salvation through the Christ and as such have their own methods of attaining this goal.

Of Mice And Men Essays (514 words) - Cinema Of The United States

Of Mice And Men Essays (514 words) - Cinema Of The United States Of Mice And Men Justin Clay Period 1 Am. Lit. Of Mice and Men The novel Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, is about two ranch hands, George and Lennie. George is a small, smart-witted man, while Lennie is a large, mentally- handicapped man. They are trying to raise enough money to buy their own ranch, by working as ranch hands. During the setting of the story, they are at a ranch whose owners name is Curley. It is in this setting that the novel reveals that the main theme is death and loss. Lennie accidentally killing all of his pets establishes that the theme of this novel is death and loss. These pets consist of mice, dogs, kittens, etc. Lennie loves to feel and pet animals, but he does not know his own strength. He kills them without really noticing what he has done, until George tells him that he did something wrong. After being scolded, Lennie is very remorseful about what he did. Once, after being yelled at Lennie says, I pinched their heads a little and then they was dead- because they were so little (13). Lennies remorse is probably more for upsetting George than it is for actually killing the animal. Another way that death and loss is evidenced by this novel is when Lennie killed Curleys wife. When Lennie is in the barn (after killing his new puppy) Curleys wife came into the barn and came on to Lennie. Lennie not knowing what was happening let her lull him into touching her hair. To Lennie it was like petting any other animal. Curleys wife became flustered when Lennie became scared and would not let go of her hair. She started to scream and Lennie tried to cup her mouth, which concluded in him killing her. Lennie was truly remorseful after this action. Soon after killing her Lennie can be heard saying to himself, I done a bad thing. I done another bad thing (121). The final confirmation of the death and loss theme occurred to George, not Lennie. After going to the place where George had told him to go if anything went wrong, Lennie lays and waits in the brush for George to come get him. What Lennie wasnt expecting was George to come with a posse of ranch hands with him. The ranch hands were not quite there, when George shot Lennie in the back of the head to save him the pain the posse would do to him. After he shot him the brush seemed filled with cries (140), which symbolizes the loss of George after shooting Lennie. This was a truly great loss for him since Lennie was his best friend. Of Mice and Men is a very sad and depressing story that contains many deaths of many living creatures. Many people had a loss from these deaths, especially George. He had to shoot his best friend. This can possibly be the greatest loss of all, because without friends, where would we be?

10 Argumentative Essay Topics on Confucianism

10 Argumentative Essay Topics on Confucianism If you are writing an argumentative paper on Confucianism then you must ensure that each argument or claim you make is supported with evidence. This is best done by having facts, anecdotes, or statistics to help you. Of course, given the complexity of the topic, in most cases have evidence in the form of stories or anecdotes from the teachings of the master or history books about him and Confucianism are sufficient. That being said, below is a list of intriguing facts on Confucianism that you can use for your next writing: Confucianism is a philosophy that was birthed in China. This philosophy focuses on improving and perfecting humanity through teaching, as well as the cultivation of virtue and moral perfection. Judaism is the parent religion of Christianity and is the official faith of the Jewish people. Judaism can be traced back more than 3,000 years and is one of the oldest monotheistic religions in the world. Like Islam, Judaism touches on every aspect of a person’s life, depending on their type of Judaism- reformed, orthodox, or conservative. Confucianism has ancient roots to China, but has been shared across Vietnam, Japan, and Korea who were each heavily influenced by Chinese culture. The ideology was used by many empires to legitimize their rule throughout areas of Eastern Asia. Of course, the term is also one applied to the notion of respect for elders or to the practice of worshipping ancestors. Those who study the ancient tests for Confucianism are called â€Å"ru†. The master of Confucianism was Confucius himself, whose name was actually Kong. Kong had many conversations with his disciples and added some sayings through conversations which were brought together to help support guidance for the followers of Confucianism. The text that combines the sayings from Kong portray him as a mentor as well as a patron for those younger males who wanted to serve the government. These men were typically located in the state of Lu, from between 510 and 479 B.C. It is said that the questions these young males had and the answers they received were what drove the concept of the learning in Confucianism. In fact, it was the master himself who stated that he simply loved learning and that he transmitted wisdom to others from the past. He also stated that he learned from his students in a continuous learning process. This learning process was considered spiritual, practical, and intellectual. Within the idea of Confucianism, learning is an essential step toward knowing. And once you know, you can do. And once you can do, you can enjoy spiritual fulfillment, something which is actually the essence of learning. This is what created the continuous process of learning, something which was meant to be an alternative to the corruption of power and wealth. The disciples of Confucius, after his death, attempted to maintain his learning standards. The concepts of Confucianism supported the North China Plains warriors. It was stated that the world of the spirits and the world of men are two different worlds, but mutual intervention and communication between the two worlds was possible through oracles or shamans. Warriors of this time had to use sacrificial rites known as li in order to mollify the spirits and to prevent them from interfering the affairs of the men. Prior to Confucius, astrology was used as an indication of the movement for the spirits. The ideas and knowledge transmitted by Confucius were written in Zhou texts. The ideas of Confucianism remained in Lu until Mencius during 371 to 289 B.C. A change to the ruling class took place when the different states were at war with one another, and with the borders changing, conscription taking place, and direct taxation being implemented, scholars were invited from around the known areas of the world to help develop the states. During this time of discourse is when Mencius received the teachings of the early Confucianism rituals and duties. It was during this warning time period that the way between heaven and earth were discussed. In fact, it was Mencius who stated that one level of heaven was for kings and rulers while the other was for gentlemen. In 221, the Qin conquest was complete and another political shift took place under the Han imperial rule. The title of emperor came of use and the ruler was now seen as an explainer of the cosmos and the yin and yang. It was claimed that each area of the cosmos resonated with the changes that took place in the others. Small climate, production, or administrative policies related to bigger processes. The texts of Confucianism were studied during this time in order to improve the current understanding of the heaven, the earth, and human scientists. It was Dong Zhongshu who has given credit for reviving the Confucianism texts at this time. This period is now referred to as â€Å"Han Confucianism†. Five Classics were crafted based on interpretations of Confucianism. These five classics were called the â€Å"new texts† and they replaced the â€Å"old texts† of Confucianism. This version of Confucianism spread from China to Korea and Japan. This model resonated well with many families in both areas but division did not take place among the imperial states until the 11th century during which time the Western scholars see socio-intellectual trends arise among the East Asian followers, something that led to the development of Neo-Confucianism. Nativists preferred the moral learning that was taught in Confucianism and the creation of woodblock printing allowed for larger private academies to develop around other beliefs such as Buddhism and Daoism. It was Zhu Xi who is credited with bringing together the trends of the time period in his writings. He focused on the new movement of cosmology and Confucianism. He also explored the shift toward the investigation of all things, or the great learning that everyone used to garner self-cultivation as well as world peace. It was in 1868 that the Japanese leaders put into effect a national state religion and demanded loyalty of the Chinese and Korean subjects in terms of Confucianism. Moderates tried to combine current social order and education with Confucianism for the Qing Empire. These facts will be your life buoy during writing your assignment. But that’s not all we can propose: look through sample topics on Confucianism and a writing guide on an argumentative essay; they will be great assistants for your paper writing. Essay on Pathophysiology Type 2 DiabetesEssay Writing Service

Essay on Pathophysiology Type 2 DiabetesEssay Writing Service Essay on Pathophysiology: Type 2 Diabetes Essay on Pathophysiology: Type 2 DiabetesType 2 diabetes is metabolic disorder characterized by the high level of hyperglycemia in the context of insulin resistance and relative lack of insulin. This is a serious health problems that undermines the quality of life of patients, may trigger serious complications and eventually result in the death of patients. Therefore, the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of type 2 diabetes is crucial for the survival of patients and maintenance of high standards of living, but patients should be collaborative and responsible to make their treatment effective.Type 2 diabetes is traditionally viewed as the diseases that is triggered by heredity of patients. Genetics is one of the major factors that increases the risk of the development of type 2 diabetes in patients. Patients inherit the health problem from their parents and ancestors but it does not necessarily mean that patients will develop type 2 diabetes. Instead, the impact of genetics implies that patients are inclined to the development of type 2 diabetes but the higher vulnerability of the disease can trigger the development of the disease in patients. At the same time, environmental factors are also important for the development of type 2 diabetes to the extent that they may trigger the genetically predisposed disease in patients. In fact, insulin resistance may be caused by an insulin signaling defect, glucose transporter defect, or lipotoxicity, and ÃŽ ²-cell dysfunction is postulated to be caused by amyloid deposition in the islets, oxidative stress, excess fatty acid, or lack of incretin effect (Bostock-Cox, 2014). The impact of environmental factors leads to the development of type 2 diabetes. In fact, environmental factors are very important factors that cause the disease. The insulin resistance becomes a serious threat to the health of patients. The impact of type 2 diabetes on the health of patients and their quality of life can hardly be underestimated. The morbidity related to the type 2 diabetes is high. To put it more precisely, the morbidity level is high since over 25 million of Americans had diabetes in 2010 and over 29 million in 2012. At the same time, the risk of the development of the disease differs depending on the racial background of individuals. To put it more precisely, the highest level of morbidity is marked among Native Americans and comprises 15,9%; the African American community has 13,2% of patients with diabetes; Hispanics have 12,8% of cases of diabetes; Asian Americans have 9,0%; and whites have 7,6% of diabetic population (Casey, 2011). Therefore, the high morbidity rate proves the negative impact of type 2 diabetes on patients.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Moreover, the mortality rate 7-7.9% per year is the high rate of death among patients with type 2 diabetes. At the same time, many researchers (Kahn, et al., 2014) insist that cases of type 2 diabetes often remain under-reported. This is why the mortality rate 7-7,9% may be inaccurate and underestimated. On the other hand, even this level of mortality is very high because patients with type 2 diabetes have the high risk of the consistent deterioration of their health condition and serious complications may lead to death.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In such a context, the understanding of the major risk factors can help to prevent the development of type 2 diabetes in patients. In this regard, genetics is one of the main factors that cause the development of type 2 diabetes. At this point, it is worth mentioning the fact that genetics is important but not determinant factor that causes the development of type 2 diabetes. In fact, genetics is a serious risk factor that increases the risk of the development of type 2 diabetes but what causes the development of the diseases are environmental factors mainly, including the lifestyle of people, their medical conditions, and other factors. For example, bein g exposed to the same environmental risk factors, individuals, who are genetically predisposed to the development of diabetes, are more likely to develop the disease compared to individuals, who are not genetically predisposed to the development of the disease.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Another risk factor is the lifestyle of patients. In fact, the lifestyle is a very important factor that contributes to the development of type 2 diabetes. The problem of the lifestyle causes the development of type 2 diabetes, if individuals have the genetic predisposition to the development of the disease. The diabetes results from the sedative lifestyle, irregular nutrition, poor food culture, the excessive use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco and other negative environmental factors. In the course of time, the negative environmental impact can trigger the development of type 2 diabetes in patients.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Furthermore, the medical condition of patie nts is another important factor that contributes to the development of type 2 diabetes. In this regard, many researchers (O’Shea, 2010) place emphasis on the high risk of the development of type 2 diabetes as the complication of diabetes and some other health problems. In this regard, hypertension, unstable insulin level, and other factors can be indicators of the development of type 2 diabetes. At the same time, the treatment of serious health conditions may trigger the development of type 2 diabetes as the result of the complication or side-effects of the medication and treatment of other serious health conditions.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   The development of the disease evokes considerable changes in patients. Type 2 diabetes is characterized by a combination of peripheral insulin resistance and inadequate insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells (Spollett, 2014). The insulin resistance becomes a serious challenge for the normal functioning of human bod y to the extent that it may lead to the lethal outcome, unless the level of insulin is balanced.  Insulin resistance and ÃŽ ²-cell dysfunction are known to be the major pathophysiologic factors driving type 2 diabetes; however, these factors come into play with very different time courses. Insulin resistance in muscle is the earliest detectable abnormality of type 2 diabetes. In contrast, changes in insulin secretion determine both the onset of hyperglycemia and the progression toward insulin therapy (Casey, 2011). The combination of insulin resistance and ÃŽ ²-cell dysfunction can cause the development of disease and deterioration of the condition of the patient’s health.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Reversal of type 2 diabetes to normal metabolic control by either bariatric surgery or hypocaloric diet allows for the time sequence of underlying pathophysiologic mechanisms to be observed. In reverse order, the same mechanisms are likely to determine the event s leading to the onset of hyperglycemia and permit insight into the etiology of type 2 diabetes (O’Shea, 2010). In such a way, the development of the disease starts progressing fast and its manifestations should draw the attention of health care professionals, who should address the obvious symptoms of type 2 diabetes to start its treatment at the early stage of its development.Within 7 days of instituting a substantial negative calorie balance by either dietary intervention or bariatric surgery, fasting plasma glucose levels can normalize. This rapid change relates to a substantial fall in liver fat content and return of normal hepatic insulin sensitivity (O’Shea, 2010). Over 8 weeks, first phase and maximal rates of insulin secretion steadily return to normal, and this change is in step with steadily decreasing pancreatic fat content (O’Shea, 2010). In such a way, 8 weeks period leads to the full phathophysiological development of type 2 diabetes. In such a wa y, patients face considerable health problems and need the immediate assistance of health care professionals. The glucose metabolism occurs in the course of the development of type 2 diabetes and is the major factor leading to the development of the disease. In the progression from normal to abnormal glucose tolerance, postprandial blood glucose levels increase first. Eventually, fasting hyperglycemia develops as suppression of hepatic gluconeogenesis fails (Spollett, 2014). In such a way, patients develop type 2 diabetes in the result of the abnormal glucose metabolism.Researchers (Spollett, 2014) distinguish the following genomic factors that determine, to a significant extent, the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes:Decreased beta-cell responsiveness, leading to impaired insulin processing and decreased insulin secretion (TCF7L2)Lowered early glucose-stimulated insulin release (MTNR1B, FADS1, DGKB,GCK)Altered metabolism of unsaturated fatty acids (FSADS1)Dysregulation of fat metabo lism (PPARG)Inhibition of serum glucose release (KCNJ11)Increased adiposity and insulin resistance (FTO  and  IGF2BP2)[Control of the development of pancreatic structures, including beta-islet cells (HHEX)Transport of zinc into the beta-islet cells, which influences the production and secretion of insulin (SLC30A8)Survival and function of beta-islet cells (WFS1)These factors are crucial for the development of type 2 diabetes, but the problem is the difficulty associated with tracing the change and impact of the aforementioned factors on the physical condition of patients.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In face of such risk factors, patients and health care professionals should be able to diagnose type 2 diabetes at the early stage of its development to minimize the negative impact of the disease on the health and life of patients. Researchers (Phillips, 2014) distinguish the following symptoms, which are distinct symptoms of the type 2 diabetes: frequent urination, increased thirst, increased hunger, weight loss, blurred vision, itchiness, peripheral neuropathy, fatigue, frequent infections of skin, urinary tract, or vagina.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   To diagnose type 2 diabetes, health care professionals use either blood tests or Zinc transporter 8 autoantibody test/ Blood tests are the most widely-spread types of tests, which are applied to diagnose type 2 diabetes. These tests are accurate, fast to conduct and easy to manage. Zinc transporter 8 autoantibody test is applied in the most complicated cases of type 2 diabetes, when health care professionals face difficulties with the diagnosis of the disease with the help of blood tests. As a rule, this test is applied, when patients have already had some problems and face serious complications.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   On diagnosing the disease, health care professionals starts the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes. The injection of insulin is the tr aditional treatment of type 2 diabetes which focuses on stabilization of the level of insulin in patients. This treatment is accompanied by medication, which may vary depending on the patient and specific case of type 2 diabetes. Often physicians prescribe metformin  lowers blood glucose mainly by decreasing the amount of sugar (glucose) (Phillips, 2014). Sulfonylurea medicines also increase the amount of insulin made by pancreas of patients (Phillips, 2014). Nateglinide  and  repaglinide  have a similar action to sulfonylureas and they books the insulin level fast that discourage health care professionals from their frequent use (Phillips, 2014).  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In addition to medication, physicians may and normally do recommend their patients to change their lifestyle because the wrong lifestyle is one of the major causes of the development of type 2 diabetes. In this regard, diet, weight control and physical activities are key factors contribut ing to the overall decline of the physical shape of patients and increase of the risk of the development of type 2 diabetes.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Thus, type 2 diabetes is extremely dangerous disease but its complications are even more dangerous. Possible complications of type 2 diabetes include retinopathy, kidney damage, poor blood circulation, nerve damage, HHNKC, which involves the severely high glucose level leading to the coma of the patient and requires the immediate medical care. This is why health care professionals should diagnose the disease accurately and at possibly early stage to conduct the treatment effectively.
